It's hard to believe it's that time of year already! (I probably say this to you every year, but it feels like it becomes more and more true each and every year. Are you with me?!) Next Saturday, November 22 marks my first of four holiday craft shows this year. I hope you'll make it out to one or more so I can say hello and merry to you in person. I'll have new holiday card designs, my 2015 illustrated calendars, DIY ornament kits, new print designs and more!

DIYpsi Indie Art Fair Summer 2014

While it seems far away now, August will be here before we know it! Toward the end of the month I will be participating in the fourth annual DIYpsi summer indie art fair. I've never done the summer show, so am excited to see you all in the heat and blazing sun. Two days of art-filled fun at the Corner Brewery — how have I resisted this long?!?

DIY Street Fair

It's this weekend! The DIY Street Fair in Ferndale is one of the highlights of the fall season: Great art, music, beer and community filling the streets. I'll be in Booth #26 in the parking lot behind the WAB. I'll have new 2014 calendars hot off the presses and more … I hope you'll come out and visit a while.

Chicago Renegade Craft Fair

I'm headed to Chicago this weekend for the Chicago Renegade Craft Fair, Saturday and Sunday, September 7 & 8. I'll be in Booth #256 along with Marcy Davy from All Things Grow. The booth is toward the Damen end of the fair on Division, away from Paulina.

It's been two years since I've done this show and I'm looking forward to a weekend in the Windy City. I'll be thinking of my friends at the Kerrytown BookFest. If you come looking for my new calendar there, you can find me next weekend at the DIY Street Fair in Ferndale with 2014 calendars fresh off the presses!

Berkley Art Bash

I'll be at the Berkley Art Bash on Twelve Mile from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, June 8). There will be over 100 artists, live music and yummy eats. I'd love to see you there!

Porter Flea presents AirCraft

I'm hitting the road tomorrow for some hootin' and hollerin' in Nashville! I can't wait to see what the Porter Flea group has cooked up for this weekend's AirCraft event at the Cornelia Fort Airpark. They have a way of adding special touches to their shows like nobody else can.

There's a Friday night pre-paid, ticket-only preview market from 5 to 8 p.m. with plenty of local eats and craft brews on hand. There's still time to get your tickets here. Saturday runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check out the full list of vendors here.

The Curatorial: Art Print Love

The Curatorial's new shop, Art Print Love, opens today and runs through May 24. I'm honored to be a part of this inaugural run hosted by the Indie Craft Experience in Atlanta. A unique selection of art prints curated by lovely hosts Christy and Shannon … you will love it!

Crafty Supermarket is Saturday!

I'm headed to Cincinnati this weekend to see some of my favorite people and join in the Crafty Supermarket. The aisles are open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, 3711 Clifton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45220. Be prepared to fill you cart with plenty of handmade goodness!

Handmade Toledo presents The Maker's Mart

This Saturday, April 20, Handmade Toledo sets up The Maker's Mart alongside Artomatic 419!

One of the region's largest multimedia arts event featuring more than 500 visual, literary, and performing artists will be held in a 50,000 square foot former warehouse space at 911 North Summit Street, Toledo, OH 43604  830 N. Summit Street, Toledo, OH 43604. (Please note the venue change to across the street.) The event runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and usually draws a huge crowd.

I'll be there with my Sloe Gin Fizz wares ready for the fun. We'll be in the The Maker's Mart area in a warehouse behind the main building. Come out and explore Toledo, people!

Show time: VLNTNSDY MRKT

Come feel the love at the upcoming VLNTNSDY MRKT! (No vowels allowed.) This Thursday,  from noon to 7 p.m., I'll be joining an amazing group of vendors at the future home of pot & box Detroit. Located on Michigan Avenue just past Roosevelt Park, the site is an old gas station and is sure to be decked out with pot & box pizazz and charm. Show time: Ridge Fine Art & Handmade Wares Show

This Saturday I will be in Ferndale for the Ridge Fine Art & Handmade Ware Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a wonderful show organized for many years by Siouxsan Miller and brings a great mix of vendors. Come on down and get a jump on your holiday shopping! 

Show time: Craft Circus

The circus is coming to town! This Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. I'll be running away with the Craft Circus at the Ypsilanti Senior Community Center. Twenty-five local artists and crafters will be coming out for a fun, low-key day of handmade crafty goodness. Come on out and get some early holiday shopping out of the way.

Show time: Liberty Local

This Saturday is the second annual Liberty Local Handmade Craft Fair at the Ann Arbor Art Center and I will be vending along with a slew of talented crafty types.  I took part in the show last year and my favorite thing was the number of vendors who I had never met or seen before, making for a really great mix of goodies to browse. We'll be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. — plenty of opportunity to stop in!

And, for a bit of extra fun, I'll be on the AM airwaves Friday morning with Lucy Ann Lance having a chat about the show. Tune in to 1290AM around 8:30 a.m. to have a listen.

Epic road trip

Hi friends! It's been quiet around here because I headed out a week ago on an epic road trip. I left Michigan Thursday morning last week at the unseemly hour of 6:30 a.m. and made my way to New York for the Bust Magazine Craftacular at the World Maker Faire. It has been so long since I visited the Northeast that I decided to stay on this week and make a grand circuit to do some much needed visiting. Here's what it looks like: Brighton, Michigan > Cleveland, OH > Bridgewater, New Jersey > New York, NY > Forest Hills, NY > Riverhead, NY > Stony Brook, NY > Framingham, MA > Brookline, MA > Gloucester, MA > Rochester, VT > home! Whew! I'll have photos and tales to tell when I get back next week, but in the meantime, I've been posting images over on Instagram: sloe_gin_fizz.

Craft show spectacular

Whew! That DIY Street Fair wiped me out. It was an amazing weekend and filled with familiar faces, great handmade goods, visiting with friends, beer, booze and music. Ferndale really knows how to bring the party. What more could a girl want?

I'll tell you what: More of the same! I'll be headed up north for the Maker's Market in Traverse City this Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons.

DIY Street Fair

It's that time again! One of my favorite shows of the year starts tomorrow: DIY Street Fair in Ferndale. There are tons of artists and crafters, beer, food, local music … good times all around. I'll be in booth #25 right down the aisle from the Detroit Manufacturing Beer Tent and the McClure's Pickles stage. Click on the map before for a better look at the lay of the land, then come on down and join in the fun!  We'll be there Friday from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
