I'm so happy to be included in Indiependent, an exhibition at the University of Cincinnati's DAAP Galleries on view now through December 10. Curated by Crafty Supermarket co-organizer and Fabricate store owner, Chris Davis and Aaron Cowen, Director of DAAP Galleries, the show explores the intersection of art, craft and commerce. It features makers and artists who reign from the craft world and embrace the DIY spirit. The show takes a look at how they are giving consumers an alternative to the big box stores while introducing them to the art world.

Animal Behavior Opening Reception
You're all invited to join me this Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. for the opening reception for Animal Behavior at Little Monsters in Lake Orion! You can find details and directions over on the Facebook event page. This is a small show with new paintings and drawings. I do hope you'll come out for a sunny afternoon of art and monsters.
If you need added enticement, there are two restaurants nearby that are rave-worthy and have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: Clarkston Union and the Union Woodshop. Make a day of it!
And if you don't live in the area, fear not! I have been updating my Etsy shop with new prints from the show, like this, this and this. Yay!

Animal Behavior: Fox in Sox
Here's another new piece from Animal Behavior, my show opening at Little Monsters in Lake Orion. After a few scheduling mishaps, I am finally dropping everything off today and hope it will be open soon soon. Will keep you posted!

Little Monsters gallery show
I'm excited to fill you in on a little thing I've been hinting at here and there. I'll be having a gallery show at Little Monsters in Lake Orion, Michigan that opens at the beginning of June and runs through July. The show, Animal Behavior, includes a variety of new paintings and prints.
Little Monsters, if you haven't been, is the most amazing toy store that happens to have a small gallery space in back with a rotating exhibition schedule. The shop has a fantastic selection of unusual toys, educational games — definitely fun for all ages!
We haven't set a date yet for an opening reception, but I will let you know as soon as I know — I've got a special surprise planned for it. In the meantime, I thought I'd start teasing you with a sneak peak of one of the new pieces. You might have caught a glimpse of it on my Facebook page. This one was inspired by a Rockwell Kent engraving for Moby Dick I saw at the recent DIA exhibition Once Upon a Time: Prints and Drawings That Tell a Story. (Sorry I didn't tell you about that one sooner — it was outstanding, but closed yesterday.) Stay tuned for more!
